Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Hot Stone Therapy
Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are an extension of my hands, deepening relaxation and promoting circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
Medical Massage is performed under the supervision of a medical doctor to aid a person's recovery from accident, injury or chronic pain. Medical massage is result oriented and the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions that have been diagnosed and prescribed by a physician. During a session I may use a variety of modalities or procedures during the treatment, but will focus only on the areas of the body related to the diagnosis and prescription. Because treatment is specific, sessions are shorter in duration and performed 2-3 times a week. Insurance may pay for medical massage, and in this case, approval from your insurance carrier is required prior to beginning of treatment. Medical massage is generally billed in 15-minute segments using current procedural terminology and adhering to the the usual and customary reimbursement fee schedule.
Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and accompanying pain and restriction of motion. This is accomplished by relaxing contracted muscles, increasing circulation, increasing venous and lymphatic drainage, and stimulating the stretch reflex of muscles and overlying fascia.
Raindrop Technique addresses imbalances in todays modern world. It is based on traditional massage therapies involving the amazing benefits of therapeutic grade essential oils applied via the Vita Flex technique to the feet, dispensed in a raindrop fashion to the body and gently massaged up the spine and back, followed by moist heat application.
Raindrop Technique is an invaluable therapy to promote healing from within using the restorative power of essential oils. It is one of the safest, noninvasive techniques available for spinal health.

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points or trigger sites are described as hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle that are associated with palpable nodules in taut bands of muscle fibers. Trigger point practitioners believe that palpable nodules are small contraction knots[ambiguous] and a common cause of pain. Compression of a trigger point may elicit local tenderness, referred pain, or local twitch response. The local twitch response is not the same as a muscle spasm. This is because a muscle spasm refers to the entire muscle entirely contracting whereas the local twitch response also refers to the entire muscle but only involves a small twitch, no contraction. The trigger point model states that unexplained pain frequently radiates from these points of local tenderness to broader areas, sometimes distant from the trigger point itself. Practitioners claim to have identified reliable referred pain patterns, allowing practitioners to associate pain in one location with trigger points elsewhere. I generally incorporate Trigger Point Therapy in a session as needed.
